In the fast-evolving world of enterprise technology, meaningful outcomes often depend on who is steering the work behind the scenes. For Lisa Possee, a Product Owner deployed through itPODS to a major global enterprise, the measure of success isn’t just about shipping features—it’s about aligning business objectives, technical teams, and customer expectations into a clear, strategic delivery pipeline
From Ohio to Enterprise Operations
Lisa’s journey began in Springfield, Ohio, and later at the University of Dayton, where she studied business administration. She launched her career at NCR Corporation and spent nearly 18 years growing with the organization. Her tenure included roles in demand planning, global sales ops, and product marketing, where she honed a skill set rooted in cross-functional execution and customer insight.
“I loved working at NCR,” Lisa shared. “It gave me the opportunity to grow, work globally, and see how operations, sales, and marketing intersect.”
The Role at itPODS
Today, Lisa operates as a Product Owner through itPODS, embedded within an enterprise environment to guide product development and backlog execution. She works across business, development, and operational teams—serving as a translator and prioritization engine.
“I always wear the hat of the customer,” Lisa said in her interview. “It’s not about what the business wants or what the dev team wants—it’s about what the customer actually needs, and what’s going to bring value.”
This guiding principle shapes how she manages backlog priorities, defines success metrics, and facilitates sprints. Her approach ensures that deployments aren’t just delivered—they’re relevant.
Learning First, Leading Next
Lisa’s leadership starts with understanding. Rather than making assumptions or rushing to act, she takes the time to deeply learn the product ecosystem she’s supporting.
“I need to understand the customer segmentation and the target markets,” she explained. “You can’t lead effectively without knowing the product you’re trying to evolve.”
This upfront investment allows her to connect product vision to business outcomes—a trait that sets her apart in enterprise environments where scale can blur accountability.
Integrity, Camaraderie, and Choosing itPODS
Lisa wasn’t looking for just another job. She was looking for a team where trust, collaboration, and excellence drive the work. She found that in itPODS.
“There was a level of integrity and shared purpose in this team that you don’t find often,” she said. “They know their clients. They know their people. And there’s a genuine effort to do great work without ego.”
That culture was pivotal in her decision to join. It gave her the confidence that she could be impactful not just on the surface, but at the structural level of enterprise delivery.
Building Relevance, Not Just Releases
Lisa Possee is redefining what it means to be a Product Owner in an embedded tech role. Through her clarity, empathy, and enterprise perspective, she is helping shape outcomes that don’t just meet internal targets but deliver lasting value to end users. And she’s doing it with the support of a team that believes in the same thing she does: that great systems serve real people—and that delivering the right thing is more important than delivering everything.
Her story is just one example of how embedded leadership, when done right, can turn complexity into clarity—and vision into impact.
